Asian Leaders in Genetics Meet in Manila

APSHG Officers and members with Senator Edgardo Angara

Geneticists from several Countries in Asia namely -- Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand - have joined forces and the Asia Pacific Society for Human Genetics (APSHG) was founded. The group started with geneticists from 7 countries; all with a vision of increasing awareness on the importance of genetics in improving health care and bringing new technology that is at par with that of the Western world, according to Dr. Carmencita Padilla, president of APSHG.

Welcome to the official website of the The Asia Pacific Society of Human Genetics (APSHG). APSHG is a professional membership organization for human/medical geneticists and scientists in the Asia-Pacific region. It is represented by 7 countries : China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. We are inviting you to join us as we fulfill our mission in providing a forum and venue for promoting and sharing research in basic and applied human and medical genetics to other health professionals.
